I'm hoping my aunt will get me MK and A's book for Christmas :)

dilemma (?)
should I buy the boots I saw on amazon.com ...$26, I think
or should I splurge on a nice pair of Zara boots here? Zara and Mango's quite expensive here in the Philippines. I could ask my aunt in Spain to buy me a pair but the cost would turn out the same if I'm going to have them shipped here
why the dilemma? err...cost, actually. the balance between wanting to not spend so much on clothes and shoes, and wanting to spend on something you know isn't a waste of hard-earned money

Since my Angono trip's moved to next month, I now have money for ukay-ukay (thrift store) shopping!! I've been wanting to go shopping for quite some time now. I've been trying NOT to wear the same outfits to work--plus I wanna add a bit of life to the office. I sorta need new clothes, too, because I've emptied almost half my closet.
Polyvore time! During my free time at work today, I added items to my list and came up with just one set. Hahaha! Hopefully I'll come up with more sets.

then december it is
My Angono trip is postponed to next month. My friend Tin's sick so she won't be able to go this weekend. I don't really wanna go if one of us won't be going...so..there. Oh well, at least the trip WILL happen...just next month, though :)
Work's been taking most of my time so I haven't been able to blog these past couple of days.
Anyway, I was fascinated with the stuff my friend has been posting using polyvore. With nothing to do now (and to rest my brain from all the codebooks I've been editing since yesterday morning), I decided to give it a try and make my own polyvore set. Now, I've been wanting to wear something yellow lately. I dunno. Maybe because the mood at work has just been so boring and dreary lately. To liven things up, I wanna wear something bright. Will explore polyvore some more when I have time again. After this post, I'm off to la la land.

off with her head!
I can't wait till Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland comes out (I dunno when, though). Other than Anne Hathaway being cast as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen (off with her head! off with her head!), JOHNNY *FREAKING HOT* DEPP IS THE MAD HATTER!!!!!
Close friends of mine would attest to my major crush on Johnny Depp. I'd have to say though (segue), Rob Pattinson could be Depp's competition (hahaha! as if) in terms of "hotness". Both are quite appealing in their own rugged/I-don't-care-what-I-look-like ways.
Going back to Wonderland....I hope the movie will come out next year. I wonder how Tim Burton will execute it...Hmmm...

can't wait can't wait!
My trip to Vietnam this year was postponed for a reason which I don't want to disclose (kinda sucks thinking about how it SHOULDN'T have been postponed...but silly me, I just had to spend so much on...nevermind). Anyway, my friend and I are planning to go there next year, maybe in July or August. Lots of time to save up for that trip! :) Another adventure I'm looking forward to.
I was looking at pictures of Vietnam on Flickr and I just have to share some.

After having discussed with my friend about going to Vietnam, I realized that I AM slowly fulfilling my goals. I've always wanted to travel and to go on adventures. I guess there were just some things that were holding me back before. Starting this year, I've been going on "mini-adventures"--going to different tourist/vacation/historical sites here in the Philippines. This coming Saturday will be the 3rd or 4th trip (and last) for this year. We don't really need to go to some far off place to consider a trip and adventure. It could be a visit to Intramuros, or an antique/vintage lover's pilgrimage to the Bangkal area in Makati.
Traveling is something, I think, most people want to do. An obstacle to this dream would be 1) a lack of funds to do so and 2) no time to travel (because of work or what not). To travel, for me, is something we should really invest in. Whenever we can go on leave from work, it's best to save up and go on trips. You don't really need to go abroad. You could explore your own country because there's so much to discover and to learn about one's motherland. Traveling allows you to learn more about different cultures, and in turn puts things in perspective. How so? Well, I think to travel doesn't mean just visiting places and taking pictures. Traveling entails getting to know the place, the people, the practices--you ask the usual who, what, why, how questions. After getting to know these, your mind suddenly just has so many thoughts racing through it. You not only think about how amazed or entertained you are, but you go deeper. You probe into how your traveling experience has contributed to you as a person, to how your views on whatever have/have not changed, etc.
You? Where do you want to go? Where do you want to travel? How does traveling affect you? :)

Office blog#3:
11-03-08
It's 4:36 p.m and I'm done with everything I need to do for today. All I have to do is to wait until 6 so I can leave and go home. Since I got here, I've been wanting to go home and to just curl up on my bed and sleep. I feel so sleepy. Must be because I slept at 3 a.m then woke up 3 hours later. I haven't had a decent shut eye for two weeks. Been busy with loads of stuff at work and I'm dying to go on the road trip my friends and I have been planning for more than a month now. Or maybe the reason for my lack of energy today is that I didn't drink coffee. I've become dependent on coffee for me to be able to function. This isn't good, though. That's exactly the reason why I decided not to drink coffee today. I'd have to go on coffee detox. Whatevs. Since the Starbucks planner promo will start tomorrow, my coffee detox will only last for 24 hours.
Less than an hour and a half left. Yay!

what an afternoon of coffee, cake, and conversations can make you realize
I treated my friend Val for coffee and dessert at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf this afternoon. We haven't seen each other since the second week of September so twas nice to be able to catch up (though we always chat on YM). We've been putting off telling each other what's been going on in our respective lives so that when we do see each other, we'd have lots of things to talk about. We were supposed to see each other a month ago, but we kept on postponing and postponing until it only took a spur of the moment decision for our plan to meet up to finally push through. Anyway, I had a great time with Val today. I mean, we always have a great time together. We were classmates during our freshman year in high school, but we became really close friends on our senior year. We were actually bestfriends, up until we had a major fight a couple of weeks before high school graduation. We patched things up a few months after that, and we haven't had a single fight since.
Val is only one of the few friends I have from high school who I can actually say is a real friend. Even if we don't see each other often, the depth of our friendship is still there. What's great is that we know that we want to remain friends for the rest of lives--go on adventures and what not, be each other's children's godmothers, etc.
I've been thinking about friendship a lot these past few days. After talking to one of my friends about letting go of certain people who you realize aren't really true friends, it got me thinking. Yes, we are at the age where we evaluate and re-evaluate our relationships--what's worth keeping and letting go. Instead of feeling regret, we just need to focus on what good letting go will do for us. Letting go is a natural part of life. We need to let go of things, memories, people so that we can move forward. At times, yes it is hard to let go--but we have to. There are times, I have to admit, that I find it really difficult to let go. Not until something major happens will I suddenly realize that I should've let go a loooong time ago. One thing I would constantly remind myself now is instead of focusing on the reasons to hold on, we should focus on the reasons why we're letting go.

I want to learn how to use adobe photoshop. I already have the software but I still don't know how to use it. There are a lot of pictures I want to edit, and it's so frustrating that I can't because for one thing--I don't have the time to edit pictures and another reason would be because I have no idea how to use photoshop.
Oh well.
On a lighter note..I found this picture in my computer and I forgot from what site I got it. I just know that I really like the dress, I like the shot, and I like how it was edited.

if only my hands weren't shaky...
this could've been a nicer shot

I was at the parking lot behind my office building when I took this. I was putting stuff inside my car on the passenger side, when I looked up I was just surprised as to how pretty Ortigas can be at night. Now, after having spent almost 2 weeks doing over time at the office and practically sleeping there--I'm inspired to take more pictures of the Ortigas area. It's actually quite nice to walk in the area during the day time.
I'd love to take a stroll in the area during the evening, but I don't want to get mugged.
Hopefully I'll be able to take more pictures of the Ortigas area soon. By the way, Ortigas is one of the "business districts" in the Philippines (specifically Metro Manila). The Philippine Stock Exchange is located in Ortigas, MERALCO (the company which supplies electricity in the country) is also in the area. Even San Miguel (famous for its beer...internationally famous) is in the Ortigas area.
