I definitely think you should wear your blazer and if you do send me a picture of you wearing it ;) I've worn mine as you recently saw it but also with a grey tee and black jeans. I think it's really versatile but the only thing to keep in mind is keeping the rest of your look simple because the gold will automatically attract attention and you really don't want too many things competing for attention in one look. I love gold or yellow with navy so maybe try that :) It also goes really well with black...obviously :)
