dork-o

Mishi and I were at Highstreet yesterday to discuss our pet project. Ended up not doing much because stupid wifi wasn't working....on my laptop! I don't get it, everytime I'm at Coffee Bean, like any branch, the wifi doesn't work :| Whatever. I'm not gonna work in Coffee Bean anymore if that's the case, haha! Kidding. Anyway, we were supposed to talk about our project but then we weren't able to discuss a lot of the details. We split the responsibilities, I'm in charge of the business cards, packaging, and nitty gritty details while Mishi is in charge of the website. My brother's helping out with this. I don't really want to divulge too much info about the project now but I'm telling you guys it's gonna be awesome.

Anyway, we were such dorks yesterday. My brother was with us, by the way. At first we were talking about our project and how my brother could help us since he won't be leaving for Singapore until November. Started talking about clothes and fashion at first, then our conversation led to a long discussion about the stock market, then we ended up talking about political economic theories that we liked and related these to how things can be improved in our country. Weird, I know. But so cool! You see, there's more depth to us ;) Hahaha! I may not write about these things often here on my blog, but economics and governance are things that I deem important. More so now that the Philippines is under a new administration, we're all expecting REAL change to happen. Hmmm...maybe I should write about these things more often now. My biggest problem when it comes to writing about these issues is that my language becomes too academic. (No) thanks to my training in political economy, I'm still stuck in that way of writing when talking about such matters.

About the stock market...I was asking Mishi about how I could possibly invest in stocks maybe next year, since I don't think I have the means to do so this year because I'm sorta bankrupt thanks to my trips, bills, and shopping (of course). I never knew the stock market could be so intersting! I've always found finance to be so boring because I don't understand it, and whenever I do try to make sense of it I end up getting even more confused. Maybe because the people explaining it to me weren't good, umm...explainers (?? hahaha!).

We have another project coming up. It's something Mishi, my brother, and I are going to work on. We're thinking of making a chart showing all the party lists here in the Philippines, and we'd make a big chart showing which are left, right, left-centered, right-centered, confused (haha!). Okay okay, enough. But I do want to share it with all of you when it's done just to show how confusing and actually stupid the entire party list system is here. There are TOO MANY party lists here, and I don't understand why.

Okay, enough with the dorkiness. I just wanna tell y'all have a fun weekend! :)
